Overview

The Ranger is a bow DPS that fights from about 20 metres — the range of almost every skill it has. Its damage is top-tier, but survivability and utility are low, so positioning is everything.

The build in one sentence

Buff up, keep Marking Shot (Precision: +300 Critical Hit and +35% Deadshot damage) on the target, and hold three buttons: Snipe, the macro and a charged Deadshot.

This guide follows Whelps — a Ranger main at 1M CP on the Korean servers who also played the global test — and his Season 1 endgame PvE build on questlog.

Patch Season 1. The build is checked against guides from the global servers: 4 stigmas, cap 20.

Global Season 1: what changes

Global Season 1 has run on its own servers since October 5, 2026, and it differs from the Korean and Taiwanese servers many guides were made on. What that means for the Ranger:

  • Four stigma slots, the last at level 37 — no fifth slot at 45 in Season 1, so Explosive Arrow is an alternative for the fourth, not an extra.
  • Only a few skills reach 20. Skills cap at 10 from points; Daevanion adds 4, rings 2 and arcana up to 4. In Season 1 plan for Deadshot and Gale Arrow at 20, and a third one if your arcana roll well.
  • Accuracy for the raid: in Korea the target for Ludra was about 1,300 — use it as a guide when you get there.
  • PvP: without Heroic gear the gap between players is smaller than on KR/TW, so timing and positioning decide more.

Skills

?Each skill card shows the specializations to take under its description; the dashed “20” chip is the pick for the third slot at skill level 20. “All specializations” lists every option.

Specialization slots open at 8, 12 and 20 (16 adds a new option but no slot) — every one of those levels is a power spike. Level actives first, passives after.

  • Deadshot 20
Charged nuke — always fully charged, always under Precision. Before 20 take the first two; swap the mobile pick for the +50% damage one if you don't need to move while charging. Fubgun (global) goes for the biggest crits instead: Skill Speed and Ignore Block and Evasion at 16, the damage pick at 20 — mobile only where a fight needs it.

    • 16[Deadshot] grants extra damage on hit
  • Gale Arrow 20
Combat Speed and damage buff. Before 20 take the Combat Speed pick and −10s cooldown (before 16: +5s duration) — Fubgun skips mobility until the third slot, because without it the buff stays up all the time.
    • 8Changes to mobile skill

Passives

Focused Eye (damage boost) and Hunter's Resolve (crit damage) are the only ones that really matter; Hunter's Soul is third.

  • Then the offensive ones: Concentrated Fire, Rooting Eye, Melee Fire.
  • Then Vigilant Eye (Max HP) and Revitalization Contract (heal at 10% HP).
  • Unyielding Resolve and Wind Vigor are nearly useless — level them with leftover points.

Gear & stats

Gear is simple: go for the highest item level. Endgame means crafted weapon, guard and accessories, Ludra bracelets and dungeon armor.

SlotMust-have soul binds
Weapon, guardCombat Speed, Weapon Damage Boost, Damage Boost, Might (+ Multi-Hit if crafted)
Helm, cloakDouble Chance, Attack Increase
ShouldersDouble Chance, Critical Damage Boost
ChestDamage Boost
LegsAttack Increase, Damage Tolerance
Gloves / bootsCombat Speed / Move Speed
Earrings / necklaceMove Speed + Might / Combat Speed + Might
RingsDeadshot and Gale Arrow levels (then Drill Dart or Snipe); otherwise Might
  • Accuracy is the second stat. Parried hits lose over half their damage, and a Ranger can't always attack from behind. Aim for ~1,100–1,200 (supports add +100).
  • Remaining slots: Attack, Critical Hit or Focused Eye — keep whichever you rolled first. Critical Hit is easier to cap for a Ranger (+300 from Marking Shot).
  • Manastones: one yellow Attack line is enough for Season 1; don't chase front/back attack sets.
  • Only roll soul binds on armor that already has one of the must-haves.
  • Bow and guard at +10 at all times, and basic manastones in every piece (N → Manastones) — cheap raw stats (Fubgun).

Titles — which one to equip in each slot: After level 45 → Titles.

Arcana

Arcana are how skills get past 16. The goal is +4 on Deadshot and Gale Arrow; a +4 roll on Snipe gives you a third skill at 20.

Arcana come from Transcendence stage 4 and are pure RNG — don't stress; the system is likely to change in Season 2.

Daevanion boards

You'll eventually fill almost every board, so don't over-plan. Each blue node gives +1 level to its skill.

  • 1. Blue nodes that take actives to 12 (unlocks their second specialization): Deadshot, Snipe, Gale Arrow, Drill Dart, Burst Arrow.
  • 2. Offensive orange nodes in the board corners — Combat Speed, cooldown reduction. Take the shortest path and grab skills on the way.
  • 3. Attack, Critical Hit, Focused Eye and Hunter's Resolve nodes; then the rest (defense: Defense, HP, Crit Resist).
  • At the very end, route around MP+50 nodes. Resetting a board is cheap.
  • Priority: blue nodes for Deadshot, Snare Shot, Suppressing Arrow, Marking Shot, Defiance.
  • No Ariel on global: there are five boards, and the level-45 one, Azphel, gives only PvP Damage Boost and Tolerance — in PvE finish the first four.
  • Azphel (level 45) is all PvP Damage Boost and Tolerance — take it, and Triniel earlier.

416 × Daevanion Crystal — the most you can get for the four PvE boards where they come from
  • Levels 12–45: Daevanion Crystal ×136.
  • Sealed dungeons (the ? on the map): Daevanion Crystal ×122.
  • Regional side quests: Daevanion Crystal ×58.
  • Shugo Festival Shop: Daevanion Crystal ×50 per character for Centuryroot Token ×10,500 in total — the price rises in four steps: 10 for 50, 10 for 100, 15 for 200, 15 for 400.
  • Nightmare Shop (Growth tab): Daevanion Crystal ×50 per character for Phantasmal Fragment ×15,000 in total (300 each).
  • The boards cost more: Nezekan, Zikel and Vaizel 134 each, Triniel 168 — 570 in total, so you can't fill them all. The route above takes the nodes that count first.
  • Dungeons on the enemy faction's side give nothing for these boards. The Azphel board (level 45) is PvP only and has its own Daevanion Crystal: Azphel — it is not counted here.

The route shown first is the recommended one. Drag the slider to see the path node by node; past the recommended amount it only fills the rest of the board in a generic order (orange nodes, Attack and Critical Hit, other skills, defense, MP last) — plan those nodes yourself and skip the passives your build doesn't use. Reset brings back the recommended route.

Stigmas

Level them evenly first — 5 / 5 / 5, then 10 — to hit each breakpoint. Once you have the points for Vaizel's Authority 20, reset and put it there first: that's when the Ranger clicks. Then Bow of Blessing, Supporting Fire and Griffon Arrow to 20 in turn.

Fubgun (global): start with 15 / 10 / 10 / 5 (Vaizel's Authority, Bow of Blessing, Supporting Fire, Explosive Arrow); after Vaizel's Authority 20 his next points go to Bow of Blessing 15. Vaizel's Authority 20 only pays off with enough Critical Hit — test it on a training dummy before you commit.

Rotation & macro

?The macro key is not bound by default: bind it in Settings → Key Settings → General → Macro. Bind it to RMB — then you hold it together with the basic attack on LMB.

AION 2 has two separate tools, and the build uses both:

  • Hotbar line — several skills stacked on one hotbar button. Pressing it casts the highest-priority skill that's ready, and in AION 2 the bottom slot has the highest priority. The cards show each line top to bottom as in the game.
  • In-game macro — while you hold its key, it presses your hotbar lines in order and cancels animation tails. Skills on cooldown are skipped.

1. Hotbar lines

Only these two lines matter; they can sit in any hotbar slots.

1Griffon line
  1. 3 Burst Arrow
  2. 2 Snare Shot
  3. 1 Griffon Arrow

In-game order, top to bottom. 1 = highest priority — the bottom slot.

Snare Shot slows the target so Burst Arrow can hit.

2Gale line
  1. 3 Tempest Shot
  2. 2 Drill Dart
  3. 1 Gale Arrow

In-game order, top to bottom. 1 = highest priority — the bottom slot.

Tempest Shot fills every gap.

2. In-game macro

Skill window → Macro: add the Griffon line, then the Gale line, 10 ms each (some players find a sweet spot between 10 and 20 ms — test it). Bind the macro to RMB in Settings → Key Settings → General → Macro.

  1. 1Griffon line1 · 10 ms
  2. 2Gale line2 · 10 ms
  • Use AION 2 control mode — the in-game macro is restricted in AION 1 mode.
  • Turn skill queue on in the combat control settings.
  • Give Deadshot a second key in Key Settings → Quick Slot (a side mouse button).

3. What you actually press

  • OpenerBuffs by hand — Bow of Blessing, Supporting Fire + Vaizel's Authority (one button, same cooldown) — then Marking Shot and a fully charged Deadshot.
  • HoldSnipe on LMB, the macro on RMB and Deadshot on the side button — all three at once.
  • Keep upMarking Shot — recast when Precision drops below ~3s (watch the buff bar). Precision: +5% Perfect Chance, +300 Critical Hit, +35% Deadshot damage. It lasts 15s — recasting it more often is a DPS loss.
  • On cooldownThe buffs again.

Another option: Fubgun's macro (global)

Fubgun's bar (video of Oct 9, frames 2:10 and 3:00): Burst Arrow moves into the Drill line, Explosive Arrow replaces Griffon Arrow, and the buffs sit on one key you press yourself.

  • HoldSnipe on LMB and the macro on RMB together, the whole fight. The T key itself is never pressed — only the macro uses it.
  • By handThe buff line on 1 at the right moment, Marking Shot every 15s, Deadshot on cooldown.

Lazy version for the open world and easy dungeons: put Burst Arrow at the bottom of the buff line on 1 and add that line to the macro — the buffs then fire on their own. Pressing them yourself is more damage, and in raids it matters.

Recap

  • Skills: Deadshot and Gale Arrow 20; Drill Dart, Snipe, Tempest Shot 16; the rest 12; Explosion Trap and Suppressing Arrow only when needed (pulling mobs together, a stun) — in endgame PvE you can skip them; Arrow Scattershot not at all.
  • Stigmas: Vaizel's Authority 20 first, then Bow of Blessing, Supporting Fire, Griffon Arrow; Explosive Arrow as the alternative fourth.
  • Passives: Focused Eye, Hunter's Resolve, then Hunter's Soul.
  • Stats: Accuracy to the cap, then Attack / Critical Hit.
  • Arcana: +4 on Deadshot and Gale Arrow.

How to fight while leveling

Leveling and the first days at 45 follow Moxsy's Ranger guide (global, October 5), made with the help of JohnPal, a Ranger with Korea and Taiwan experience.

  • Packs: most Ranger skills hit only within 4 m of the target, so don't kill mobs one by one. Tag several with Snipe to pull them, then Marking Shot and Explosion Trap to drag them together, then the macro.
  • Elites: Marking Shot first — Precision stays for the whole fight — then the macro, and a fully charged Deadshot on the biggest target. Never waste Deadshot on trash while an elite is up.
  • Stagger: Suppressing Arrow when the boss is close to being stunned. Skip Arrow Scattershot: holding it on a staggered boss does less than the normal rotation.
  • Mana: Snipe restores MP — weave it all the time.

  • Order: Snipe and Tempest Shot evenly, then Drill Dart, Gale Arrow and Burst Arrow as they unlock; Deadshot whenever a level is available.
  • Passives after the skills: Focused Eye and Hunter's Resolve first, then Hunter's Soul, Rooting Eye and Concentrated Fire — your many slows, roots and damage over time feed the last two.
  • Stigmas: Vaizel's Authority, Bow of Blessing, Supporting Fire and Explosive Arrow evenly to 5. After 45 a reset is free: put everything into Vaizel's Authority until it reaches 20 — the biggest power spike a Ranger gets.
  • Daevanion: the skill nodes of your big damage skills first, then the other skills, then passives; skip Critical Hit Resist nodes.

Leveling macro

?The macro key is not bound by default: bind it in Settings → Key Settings → General → Macro. Bind it to RMB — then you hold it together with the basic attack on LMB.

Moxsy's setup (frame 13:32): buffs and bursts live in two lines the macro presses, Snipe and Deadshot stay on the mouse.

As in the game: a stacked line fires its bottom skill first; gold lines are the ones the macro presses. Hover an icon for the skill.

8Burst line
  1. 4 Supporting Fire
  2. 3 Bow of Blessing
  3. 2 Vaizel's Authority
  4. 1 Burst Arrow

In-game order, top to bottom. 1 = highest priority — the bottom slot.

Burst Arrow first; when it is on cooldown, every buff fires the moment it is ready.

QGale line
  1. 3 Snare Shot
  2. 2 Explosive Arrow
  3. 1 Gale Arrow

In-game order, top to bottom. 1 = highest priority — the bottom slot.

Gale Arrow, Explosive Arrow, and Snare Shot for the slow that Burst Arrow needs.

4Drill line
  1. 2 Tempest Shot
  2. 1 Drill Dart

In-game order, top to bottom. 1 = highest priority — the bottom slot.

Drill Dart on cooldown, Tempest Shot fills the gaps.

In-game macro, every step with a 10 ms delay:

  1. 1Gale lineQ
  2. 2Drill line4
  3. 3Burst line8
  4. 4Drill line4

The second Drill Dart step does nothing extra yet — in Moxsy's test the damage was the same — but it pays off once the stigmas reach 15. Hold Snipe on LMB together with the macro; Deadshot is charged by hand.

Another option: Grobs' early lines

1Line 1
  1. 2 Explosive Arrow
  2. 1 Griffon Arrow

In-game order, top to bottom. 1 = highest priority — the bottom slot.

2Line 2
  1. 3 Tempest Shot
  2. 2 Gale Arrow
  3. 1 Drill Dart

In-game order, top to bottom. 1 = highest priority — the bottom slot.

In-game macro: Line 1 → Line 2, 10 ms each. Once your skills reach 12–16, switch to the full setup in the PvE tab.

What's new

  • Weekly tracker rebuilt — your whole roster at the top with each character's Odyle energy on the real server clock (+15 every 3 hours), one membership switch for the account, and a link to each character's class guide.
  • What the server shares and what each character has — Daily Dungeon, Shugo keys, duty quests and the server's energy limits are counted once for everyone; counters fill like charges in the game, and your item level shows what is open and what comes next. Limits corrected (Daily Dungeon is 14, not 7).
